For those of you who pray, I’m asking for your prayers. As many of you may remember, my best friend lost her younger brother in a car accident about 6 months ago. Last week she called to tell me that her father has a brain tumor. It is benign and operable. Apparently if one must have a brain tumor, this is the best kind to have. He had personality changes and some forgetfulness followed by drastic forgetfulness and lethargy. He is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow morning around 8:00.
Obviously, this family has recently had to find sources of strength that they never knew they had. I hope that those reserves will not be tapped even more deeply in the days to come. It drives me nuts that there is nothing I can do. A life that is so dear to one of the women I love most in this word is in the hands of someone she barely knows. Fear and powerlessness are not a bracing combo.
Anyway, that’s what’s up. I hope to have very good news to post soon.
*UPDATE*
After an eight hour surgery and a few rough days in the hospital, Steve is at home and doing very well. Staples come out today. Radiation is a posibility in the near future, but, all things considered things are going amazingly well. Thank you all for your thoughts and kind prayers!
